Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between boarding and non-boarding language schools in the UK?
At boarding schools you stay in the same building, so there are no extra travel costs. You get to meet and make friends with students from different countries. You practise speaking English outside lessons too. There is 24/7 security and a reception service. The building has free facilities such as a gym and cinema room, and shared spaces like the cafeteria and garden help students interact more. In short, boarding schools are comfortable, social and a great advantage for practising English outside the classroom.
Is there a placement test before I start language school?
Yes! Before your course begins, your school will assess your level first online and then face to face on your first day. You will then start lessons in the class that matches your level.
When can I start my course?
Courses start every Monday at all our partner institutions, including those across the United Kingdom.
Can I extend my course later?
Yes! Once your course has started, you can easily extend it, depending on the length of your visa. This way you can improve your English while keeping your plans flexible.
My English level is very low – can I still take a course?
Absolutely! Our courses are designed to cater for learners from beginner level upwards. Your level is first determined with a placement test, and you then start lessons in the class that suits you. Even if your English is limited, you can progress step by step.
Are there activity programmes after lessons?
Yes! Alongside your lessons, you can boost your English practice in a fun way with a range of social and cultural activities, excursions and sports.
Are the schools accredited by the British Council?
Yes! All of our partner schools are accredited by the British Council. This accreditation shows that the schools are regularly inspected for teaching quality, teacher qualifications, student support and facility standards. In other words, you will receive reliable, high-quality education that meets international standards.
Do I receive a certificate after the course?
Yes! At the end of your course you will receive an official certificate. It documents the length of the course you attended, your level and your achievement. You can add it to your CV or use it in university and job applications.
